Improv has taught me to to find the joy in mistakes, and to grow by accepting them...The best ideas can get lost if there isn't a safe space to share them in.
John Voth is deeply committed to helping people communicate with authenticity, clarity and confidence. For over twenty years, he has combined his work as an award-winning actor, improviser, facilitator, director and producer to explore the power of story, connection and play. Born in Germany and raised in Australia, he eventually settled in Canada, building a career that spans theatre, film, television and corporate training, with work ranging from Shakespeare
festivals to Fortune 500 boardrooms. He has performed with Bard on the Beach, The Arts Club and as a mainstage improviser at The Improv Centre. He has also directed and produced music videos and commercials that help clients share their vision and products effectively with the world.
For the past decade, he has led leadership communication workshops and provided executive coaching for clients across industries including healthcare and tech, and many others. His facilitation work draws on the same mix of preparation, spontaneity, and genuine listening that
defines his stage work, helping leaders and teams strengthen communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. John’s sessions always emphasize practical tools, shared laughter, and authentic connection.
Whether in a rehearsal hall or a boardroom, John creates spaces where people feel comfortable, engaged, and open to trying something new. His work invites participants to take
risks, experiment, and find the joy in the unexpected, the same magic that drew him to improv in the first place.
